USING MULTIPLE PRINTERS

These are a few examples of how to choose which printer to use if you have more than one printer hooked up to your computer. It's easy if the drivers are compatible. And most are. These images are from my system. Yours may vary.

To print a picture you can right click the file then select print. Or you can open the pic and select to print with an icon. Or click once to highlight the pic then go to "file" and select print.
Next you will see the "Print or Printer" window. Use the arrow next to the printer name to select the printer you want to use. Click OK and it should print to the printer you selected.
To print word or text files to a selected printer you must open the file first. You can not right click the file and select print or it will print to the default printer.
Once the file is open click "file" on the tool bar. (note that these steps are necessary to print web pages also) You cannot use the print icon to print or it will print to the default printer. Then click print or page setup. If you click print choose the printer. See above.
If you click page setup click on printer.
Select your printer after clicking page setup.

These last two steps are important before you select to print.

1. Turn on your printer.
2. Make sure there is paper in the printer.
