Firefox and Opera are web browsers that can be used instead of Internet Explorer. Since Microsoft no longer offers support or security feature updates for the Internet Explorer web browser on systems before Windows XP you might want to use an alternative browser such as Firefox or Opera.
Internet Explorer may still be needed for for some things such as secure banking transactions (check with your financial institution) or other Windows updates. In all other matters these alternative web browsers may offer more security since Microsoft is no longer offering security updates for their browser. Opera and Firefox continue to commit to security and safety features for their web browsers. Unfortunately if you use Windows you will will need to upgrade to XP or the soon to be released Vista for more security. The alternative is to not use Windows. There are other operating systems but most people won't use them. All 26 pages of my web site have been converted to HTML using notepad. You will have to view my SITEMAP page to see them all. While doing this I have also made some revisions on some of the pages. I'll keep you informed. This page would be HTML compliant as checked by W3C. The Banner ad at the top creates the errors. I did not create the banner ad. My free web host provider did. That is there right. They are providing a free service.
